Harry Maguire And Bukayo Saka Welcomed Kobbie Mainoo Into The Senior Squad

Wonderkid Kobbie Mainoo of Manchester United has expressed his surprise after receiving his first senior England call-up.

The season has seen the midfielder soar to prominence. Originally called into Lee Carsley’s Under 21 team, he was promoted into Gareth Southgate’s squad on Tuesday in time for the matches against Brazil and Belgium.

Now, the 18-year-old, who is also eligible for Ghana, will make a run at an unexpected spot in England’s squad for Euro 2024.

He was seen welcoming Bukayo Saka of Arsenal and Harry Maguire of United as the team checked into their Staffordshire camp ahead of the Wembley doubleheader.

‘It’s a bit different,’ Mainoo remarked, standing outside St George’s Park. I mean, after being called up to the under-21 team

Mainoo said, “My family is all ‘buzzing’ since his promotion.

Although the midfielder hasn’t received any caps for the under-20 or under-21 teams, he has previously played youth football for England.

Although vice captain and senior midfielder Jordan Henderson was replaced during Ajax’s Saturday match in considerable discomfort, there haven’t been any dropouts from the current roster.
